Comment: Approved with the following conditions. - Itis reminded that “thermo-electric couple detectors fixed above the tank of each transformer shall detect) abnormal temperature rise due either to tank or bushing fire or other fire within the transformer enclosure”. We referred to drawings BK-6020-324, 325, 326, 327, and found that there is only one array| of heat detectors surrounding transformer with height of 2 meter from ground. We're afraid their locations are not high enough to detect fire on head cover and bushing, so it seems to work unreliably. Please clarify. FOR REFERENCE ri Our proposed arrangement for detectors covers all fire within transformer enclosure as follows. For example, when the bushing is broken due to an internal accident of the transformer, the burning insulation oil of transformer falls along the transformer’s side wall to the ground. And the flame spreads on ground. Therefore, the flame and the heat source are generated near the ground as the first stage of a fire. ‘The above-mentioned fact was found from a lot of experiences of us, and the installation position of the detector was decided 2m from ground as a standard. In addition, there is no problem in the detection of fire because the operating temperature of the detector is 80 degree C. These detectors positions had been generally applied to the domestic electric power company in Japan, and there is no trouble report from the customer. Comment: Approved with the following condition. - On page 7/13, we found that extinguishing system will be activated by one of heat detectors, and system| seems to be too sensitive. Therefore, we recommend that at least two detector signals from two zones are required to activate system, 6. This drawing was revised according to customer's comments. 3 We confirmed. This drawing was revised according to customer's, comments. 4. We confirmed. 5 As a design policy, we consider that the fire ‘extinguishing system should be operated with fail-safe. ‘Therefore, our system is operated when the fire signal is detected with one heat detector. Even if the fire-extinguishing system operates due to the maffunction of the heat detectors, there is no problem for transformer operation because it is same situation as raining on the transformer. In generally, these detector systems are applied to the domestic electric power company in Japan. ‘We confirmed.
