PREAMBLE:

The Government of Kar na't aka have in.troduced a scheme for granting pension benefits to Journalists· in G.O. read (1) above. Und·er this scheme,. a monthly pe ns t.o n of' Rs.250/- ::tor life w/ill

be paid to those Journalists who pos~~ss the following eligibility cri.teria:-

(a) He/She must. have completed 55 years of ~ge at the time of applying for pension.·

(b) -He/She must have put in not less than 20 years o.f service·as an :Editor!Reporier/Sub-Editor/Press Pho+ogr-a .. Ph. er!Gorre.spondent/CP. art time or full time) o.f a .newspape.r/Periodical/News Agency including

-newapapez-e and periodicals published. outside the Karnataka statE' and News Agencies with Headq_uarters ou~side the State. In respect of periodicals. having .c rrcu Lat t on of les.s :;han 5000, the .erviee 'r e nd er-ed by ·the applicant, as Ed itor only wi 11 be counted.
