Mr. Anand Mahindra is married to Anuradha

Mahindra ,better known as the Editor of ¶Man·s
World· and also the Editor - In - Chief of
¶Rolling Stone of India· and the couple have 2
daughters.
 CAREER HISTORY
After schooling he joined Mahindra Ugine Steel
Company Ltd (MUSCO), the country's foremost producer
of speciality steels, as Executive Assistant to the Finance
Director. In 1989 he was appointed President and Deputy
Managing Director of the company.

At this point of time he took various initiatives to expand

the company and also started the diversification of the
Mahindra group into new business areas of real estate
development and hospitality management.

In 1991 he was appointed Deputy Managing Director of

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., the country's dominant
producer of off-road vehicles and agricultural tractors
and climbed more ladders of success by becoming
Managing Director in 1997 and in 2003 he was given
the additional responsibility of Vice Chairman.
Mr. Mahindra was also a co-promoter of Kotak Mahindra
Finance Ltd., which in 2003 was converted into a bank
known as Kotak Mahindra Bank which is one of the
foremost private sector banks today.

He pioneered Mahindra & Mahindraos

fortay into sport utility vehicles. Earlier,
the company had a presence in utility
vehicles used for commercial purposes. It
was Mahindra who moved the company
up to launch Scorpio, which in no time
went on to become Indiaos largest
selling sports utility vehicle.

He even launched a mid-sized sedan, Logan, with

European carmaker Renault and soon, 53-year-old
Mahindra will have two-wheelers in his portfolio of
products
 INTERESTS AND HOBBIES

Mr. Anand Mahindra has a keen interest in football and

is a big football fan himself

He also plays tennis and has now taken up sailing as one

of his additional interests

The master of business administration had originally

studied architechture and film in America, but, till date
he continues to be a keen photographer
 ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES
Mr. Mahindra is co- founder of Harvard Business School
Association Of India which has been dedicated to
promote professional management in India

He has also been the Ex- President of Confedration of

Indian Industry for 2003-2004.

He was also the President of automotive research

association of India

He is a director of National Stock Exchange Of India

under the ¶Public Representatives· category.

He is the Trustee of K.C.Mahindra Education Trust

He is also on the Board of Governors of the Mahindra

United World College of India.
He is chairman of National Safety Council Of India

Mr. Mahindra is the Founder Chairman of the Mumbai

Festival, which celebrate the rich cultural diversity of the
city

He is the Co-Chairman of the International Council of the

Asia Society, New York

Mr. Mahindra frequently shares his views and ideas on

Indian economy and business through his writings in
some of India's leading business magazines.
