Student Council is an organization conducted by student leaders and supervised by


adult sponsors. Student Council at Stonewall Tell is the students’ voice in our
school. The purpose of Student Council is to provide leadership, and to serve the
student body, the school, and the community. The goals of Stonewall Tell’s Student
Council are to:

Promote opportunities for student cooperation in the management of school


affairs.
Act as an intermediate representative between the student body and the
administration.
Promote the general welfare of the students through advising the
administration in matters concerning curriculum and student privileges.
Provide leadership.
Be self-supporting.
Conduct yearly class officer and student council elections.
To serve as a liaison for class activities.

Student Council is open to students in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade at Stonewall Tell. To
represent your grade-level as a Student Council Representative, you must meet the
following criteria:

 You must maintain at least a B (85) average, overall, with NO F’s each
semester.
 You must maintain a good standard of citizenship – no U’s in conduct and no
N’s.
 You must be willing to give of your time and effort whenever needed.
 You must serve as a positive role model to other students at Stonewall Tell
By having a positive attitude
By following ALL school/teacher rules
 You must complete and turn in the application and meet requirements
by the specified date.

Most of the projects completed by Stonewall Tell’s Student Council are service-
oriented. First, we provide information to the students, faculty and community about
such topics as school cleanness, safety and the environment. Student Council
members will be asked to work on projects during after-school hours, as needed.
We are beautifying the school grounds.
