Energy consumption and economic growth are closely interlinked. This study examines the relationship between energy consumption and GDP growth in three South Asian countries - India, Pakistan and Bangladesh - from 1971 to 2015. It finds evidence of a causal relationship between energy consumption and economic growth in all three countries, with energy consumption positively impacting real GDP.
