Silverlight VCD / DVD Movie Rental is a software design model
depicting various UML diagrams that facilitates developers to model
the design of the application. The case study deals with the rental
system of the Silverlight VCD / DVD Movie Rental.

Silverlight VCD / DVD Movie Rental which located on Depok –

West Java is planning to make new innovation in their business on
movie rental services. They want to make their customers be easier to
do rent movie transaction and fell satisfied with their services. In Order
to make it, they hire some of IT technical to make application which can
improve their existing movie rent system
 Next, the IT technical recommend the owner of movie rental to
use desktop application on their movie rent transaction. For make it,
They ask the owner of the rental movie to recruit new staff as the
admin for managing their new system later. Moreover, they ask the
owner to make membership for the rental movie customer in order to
make the admin easier input all transaction which related with rent
movie.
What admin can do?
The admin can full access the application (login to the system
required)such as :
Do input new data member and all transaction data to database
Create Bill (rent and return Bill)
View and check movie status
Creating all transaction repot to database
Full control access the database
And what customers can do?
The member can’t access the application. So, They no need to login to
the system :
 Register to rental movie system as a Member
 Rent Movie VCD / DVD
 Pay Fine if they late to return movie VCD / DVD
 Do rent Payment

In order to solve the problem, the IT technical create UML Diagram,
such as :

-Class diagram
-Sequence diagram
-Object diagram
-Package diagram
-Component diagram
-Deployment Diagram
-Activity diagram

 Hardware: PC compatible with an Intel Pentium-IV
processor, 1GB RAM, and 80GB of Hard disk
 Operating system: Windows XP Professional SP3 or
later

 Software: JSDK 1.4.2 and Jude

 Summary
After The IT technical create their new rent
system, hopeful can solve their problem and
improve their business.
