How do structures carry wind load?

INTRODUCTION
Wind storms cause a variety of problems. As a building becomes taller, it must have adequate strength and stiffness to resist lateral loads imposed by winds. Buildings which are not designed well against wind loadings could face strength and serviceability issues: objects may vibrate, pictures may lean, occupants may feel illusively that the world outside is moving, etc. These issues cause the occupants feel insecure and uncomfortable and such buildings will not be functional. Moreover, Structural innovations which have led to light weight construction have reduced the stiffness, mass and damping characteristics of modern buildings. In order to overcome these concerns, designers have come with three principal structural solutions which make the body of this poster: 1- Braced frames 2- Moment resisting frames 3- Shear walls
