So much grace already in my hands

We sit at the airport with the one rucksack you told me to take. I have left the precious
small things that made this journey of boldness bearable.
You tell me to lighten up, the road is rocky ahead, I will need my wits about me. You will
hold my treasures. Look after them.
The dog sits down on my feet, knowing something deeper than the first meeting and
again
I am tearful but full.
You’ve taught me to believe in the dark and follow the light in my heart. setting my face
like flint to the horizon,
Still, I am trembling at your side.
Don’t doubt, you say to me. No matter what the road signs say,I am the map. I will not
fail to bring you.
I sip the hot coffee and cannot eat a bite, my insides empty as a wineskin waiting for the
wine of your love, I have seen too much to think you are fooling me when you tell me,
This next part will turn the axis of your soul upside down, remake it. and you.
This is the moment when all of my wishes are ashes.
This is the moment my will merges with yours and the Love the Love the Love of the
world and all its fearful children waiting for a sign becomes real. This is the miracle.
And I,
heading for the gate, kissing the white dog goodbye, gathering my bag, my coat, my
shivering journey, looking into the deep cosmos of your face-
Trust. Everything.
