Dr.

McArthur
Queens University of Charlotte Web Designer

Dear Dr. McArthur,

The Queens University of Charlotte web site is overall, very pleasing. It is easy to
navigate, where content can be located for specific publics to access it. For media, I recognized
there is a “What’s New” section and an “Events” link for them to navigate to press information. I
think this is the best part of the website because it is aesthetically pleasing with the slideshows.
The margins are also perfect size in order to not draw away from, but focus on content. However,
it could use a little changing.
The main object of this website it seems, to be to serve its students, faculty, staff first,
and then the other visitors to the site. There are many pages which are not working at any given
time. I think this problem need to be addresses because it interrupts the navigation process
through the web site – specifically the directory. Other than that, there is very easy access to
information for students, faculty and staff.
The content is overall very good, but there is sometimes information left up for a very
long period of time. For instance, the announcement of Fareed Zakaria’s upcoming speech was
up for so long that I stopped paying attention and I believe others would have too. That would
cause less interest in the actual event if put up to early.
The web site is updated regularly and I can tell by the new events posted. As I mentioned
before, the old information can be taken off on a more frequent time span.
The website is not very bidirectional. There needs to be more connection between e-
mails, Twitter, and Facebook. There are some, but I feel as if there could be more.
Are you tracking use? If not, start to. If you do, you will be able to tell what information
is being used and what is not. When you know, you can eliminate information and clean it up.

If you have any more questions regarding specific areas of the web site, please contact me, at
