Recording Artist JF1 Donates Twenty Percent of Digital Sales of “Como Yo” to
Dominican Republic’s Casa del Niño
Charity Founded by Oscar de la Renta and Xiomara Menendez, Casa del Niño Cares for
More Than 1,500 Children
New York, NY / November 3, 2010 - Dominican-American recording artist JF1 will donate twenty percent
of digital sales for the life of his "Como Yo" digital single until the song raises $200,000 for Casa del Nino,
which was founded by Oscar de la Renta and Ximora Menendez.
Boston-born, Dominican-raised and now New York-based recording artist JF1 released the single and
music video “Como Yo” earlier this year. The song is a mix of Reggaeton and Bachata and the music
video features the vibrant colors and energy of the street, as well as the cultural pride of JF1’s growing
Dominican fan-base.
“I chose Casa del Nino because I know first hand how much help the children of the Dominican Republic
need. This organization offers priceless services and improves lives; I am happy to support its efforts,”
says JF1.
According to its website, Casa del Niño was founded in 1982 by Xiomara Menendez and Oscar de la
Renta. It is regarded as the most complete project of child assistance in the Dominican Republic and is
considered to be a model in efficiency and quality care. At Casa del Niño, every child receives food, full
dental and medical care, and vocational training for the age appropriate - all in hope of a better tomorrow
for the youth of the community. Today, this worthwhile organization cares for more than 1500 children,
from newborns to young adults.
