weighed down

exalted for you
your renown.

along with
hardship, there
is ease.

with hardship,
there is ease.

Sinai.

of security

4. Certainly, We þ’Îû z⎯≈|¡ΣM}$# $uΖø)n=y{ ô‰s)s9
have created man
in the finest of ∩⊆∪ 5ΟƒÈθø)s? Ç⎯|¡ômr&
moulds.
5. Then We çμ≈tΡ÷ŠyŠu‘ ¢ΟèO
reversed him to
the lowest of low. ∩∈∪ t⎦,Î#Ï≈y™ Ÿ≅xó™r&
6. Except those (#θãΖtΒ#u™ t⎦⎪Ï%©!$# ωÎ)
who believe and
do righteous ÏM≈ysÎ=≈¢Á9$# (#θè=ÏΗxåuρ
deeds. So for them 5βθãΨøÿxΕ çöxî íô_r& óΟßγn=sù
is a reward

deny you, after

the most just

Power is better

months.

the Spirit descend

(horses) who run
with panting
(breath).
2. Then strike ∩⊄∪ %Znô‰s% ÏM≈tƒ‘Í θßϑø9$$sù
sparks (by hoofs).
3. Then charge ∩⊂∪ $\⇔÷6ß¹ ÏN≡uÉóèRùQ$$sù
suddenly in the
morning.
4. Then raise up ∩⊆∪ $\èø)tΡ ⎯ÏμÎ/ tβö rOr'ùs
thereby dust.
5. Then penetrate ∩∈∪ $ºèøΗsd ⎯ÏμÎ/ z⎯ôÜy™uθsù
thereby into the
midst (of enemy)
collectively.
6. Indeed, ⎯ÏμÎn/tÏ9 z⎯≈|¡ΣM}$# ¨βÎ)
mankind is
ungrateful to ∩∉∪ ׊θãΖs3s9
his Lord.
7. And indeed, …çμ¯ΡÎ)uρ
he himself is a
witness to that. ∩∠∪ Ó‰‹Íκy¶s9 y7Ï9≡sŒ 4’n?tã
8. And indeed, Îösƒø:$# Éb=ßs9Ï …çμ¯ΡÎ)uρ
for the love of the
worldly wealth, he ∩∇∪ ωt±s9
is intense.
9. Does He not $tΒ uÏY÷èç/ #sŒÎ) ãΝn=÷ètƒ Ÿξsùr& *
know when shall
be brought out ∩®∪ Í‘θç7à)ø9$# ’Îû
that which is in
the graves.
10. And shall be ’Îû $tΒ Ÿ≅Å_Áãmuρ
made manifest
that which is in ∩⊇⊃∪ Í‘ρ߉Á9$#
the breasts.

informed of them.

calamity.

when people shall
be like scattered ĸ#txø9$$Ÿ2
moths.

5. And the ãΑ$t6Éf9ø $# ãβθä3s?uρ
mountains shall
be like carded Ç⎯ôγèÏ ø9$$2

wool.

6. Then as for one M

whose scales are
heavy. ∩∉∪ …çμãΖƒÎ—≡uθtΒ
7. So he shall be π7 uŠÅÊ#§‘ 7πt±ŠÏã ’Îû uθßγsù
in a state of
pleasure. ∩∠∪
8. And as for one ôM¤yz ô⎯tΒ $¨Βr&uρ
whose scales are

9. So his refuge ∩®∪ ×πtƒÍρ$yδ …çμ•Βé'sù
shall be the deep
pit (Hell).
10. And what do ∩⊇⊃∪ ÷μu‹Ïδ $tΒ y71u‘÷Šr& !$tΒuρ
you know what
that is.
11. Raging Fire. ∩⊇⊇∪ 8πuŠΒÏ %tn ‘î $tΡ

rivalry for
(worldly) increase
diverts you.

the graves.
3. Nay, you shall tβθßϑn=÷ès? š’ôθy™ ξx.
soon know.

you shall soon

knew with a sure

surely see Hell.

shall see it

certainty.

shall surely be

about the
blessings.

is in loss.

who believed and

deeds, and

every slanderer,

wealth and

3. He thinks that ÿ…ã&s!$tΒ ¨βr& Ü=|¡øts†
his wealth will
make him last ∩⊂∪ …çνt$s#÷{r&
forever.
4. Nay, he will

surely be thrown
into the crushing ∩⊆∪ ÏπyϑsÜçtø:$#
place.
5. And what do $tΒ y71u‘÷Šr& !$tΒuρ
you know what
the crushing place ∩∈∪ èπyϑsÜçtø:$#
is.
6. The Fire of ∩∉∪ äοy‰s%θßϑø9$# «!$# ‘â $tΡ
Allah, kindled.
7. Which leaps ’n?tã ßìÎ=©Üs? ©ÉL©9$#
up over the

8. Indeed, upon ×οy‰|¹÷σ•Β ΝÍκön=tã $pκ¨ΞÎ)
them it will be

stretched forth.

make their plot
(to end) in ∩⊄∪ 9≅‹Î=ôÒs?
vain.

down on them

accustomed
security of the
Quraish.

accustomed
security to the ∩⊄∪ É#ø‹¢Á9$#uρ
journeys in the
winter and the
summer.
3. So they should #x‹≈yδ ¡>u‘ (#ρ߉ç6÷èu‹ù=sù
worship the Lord
of this House. ∩⊂∪ ÏMøt7ø9$#
4. Who has fed ⎯ÏiΒ ΟßγyϑyèôÛr& ” ü Ï%©!$#
them against
hunger, and made ô ÏiΒ ΝßγoΨtΒ#u™uρ 8íθã_

them secure from ∩⊆∪ ¤∃öθyz
fear.

him who denies

he who drives

encourage upon

poor.

unto those who

heedless of their

good) to be seen.

small kindnesses

worshippers of

worshipper of
that which you ∩⊆∪

worshippers of

your religion, and
for me is my
religion.”

will not avail him

earned.

into a blazing

4. And his wife, s's!$£ϑym …çμè?r&tøΒ$#uρ
the carrier of
slander (or ∩⊆∪ É=sÜysø9$#
thorns).
