TEACHING PLAN FOR APPENDICITIS

GOAL : After the allotted time for discussion

and explanation, client will be able to enhance
knowledge about appendicitis:its
Pathophysiology, Manifestations, Assessment
and Diagnostics findings, complications, Medical
management and post op care.

DESCRIPTION OF THE LEARNER : The

learner may be the patient himself and/or any
available member of the family or significant
other of the patient coming into the patient’s
room, who may have little or no knowledge
about Appendicis.
The patient knows how to communicate
verbally, and can very well comprehend either
Ilocano or tagalog.

DIAGNOSIS: Inadequate Knowledge related to

lack of exposure

PURPOSE: Patient and his significant others

will be corrected of their misconceptions and will
have an enhanced and strengthened knowledge
about appendicitis.

OBJECTIVE: After 8-10 minutes of nurse-client

interaction, client will be able to have more
knowledge about appendicitis: its
Pathophysiology, Manifestations, Assessment
and Diagnostics findings, complications, Medical
management and post op care.
