Big Luck

It was nice winter afternoon. Sun was shining sharply, the weather was quite cold. I was
sitting in microbus with ten 7 other people. We were heading to Johannesburg, to attend
footbal match Spain vs. Honduras. I was happy because I always wanted to see Spanish
footbalists in action.
After hour of journey, we finally arrived at Jo'burg. But there was a big problem! Where to
park our microbus? The Ellis park stadium was in centre of one of numerous parks in Jo'burg
so there were no parking places in the park. Whole area was crowded with people- mostly
natives. The were staying along the road and selling flags of all sizes to people in cars. While
we were looking for place to park a blackman shouted at us :"Follow me people, I know
where you can park your car!" Then he started running in front of our car, so we followed him.
He lead us to some narrow little street far from the stadium. When we finally parked, bunch of
black people encircled us and requested money for finding us place to park. I had heard before
that if we didn't give money , these people would rob us and stole our microbus but if we do,
they would look after the car. We gave them the money, around fifty rands to each of them.
One of them offered us that he could show us way to the stadium. We accepted.
After the match (Spain won), it was night. There were many celebrating spanish everywhere.
We didn't know the way back to our car! Moreover, it is known that walking in night streets
of Johannesburg is literally a suicide when you are white!Luckily, we met again our guide. He
lead us back to our microbus. There were no complications on the way but without our guide
we would most likely get robbed. We paid him generously. It was very dangerous adventure.
