Inthe third mixer, consisting of Q1 and Q2 [3SK73GRI, the second IF signal is mixed with 8.375 MHz signal generated by IF unit's heterodyne oscilator circuit, consisting of O53 and 054 (2SC2458Y), and converted into the third IF signal {455 kHz). The third IF signal is then amplified by 5 {35K73GR). A diode switch is used to route the signal 10 sither the FM or SSB circuits. In. Encoder ‘The TS-440S uses an optical encorder. Two different clock : ‘signals from the encoder are 90°, out of phase with each Y ‘ther. The two clock signals are uP078006 Converted into clock pulses (250 pulsesirotation x 4) and U/D. signals indicating the direction of rotation by the 4011 and 4030 and fed into the 7800.
