Proteins, among many other types of nutrients play a huge part in an individual’s system.

When it comes to immunity, what mainly happens is that the proteins coat the genes in order to

form virus particles that can infect the body. The proteins assist in stabilizing and repairing,

buildings muscles and joints, and are very nutritious for individuals who need the protein to help

repair their bodies. Another great example is women who are pregnant when a woman is

pregnant she needs to care for her unborn child as well as she would if the body had already been

born. The proteins help because the amino acids are proteins with petide bonds. According to

(Paretta, Nancy), some diseases and illnesses that proteins need to help with are: Flu, influenza,

bird flu, chicken pox, breast cancer, and HIV. With strong immunities it makes it hard for these

illnesses to get integrated within the body’s systems. “Researchers at the University of Rochester

have identified a protein in the immune system that appears to play a crucial role in protecting

against deadly forms of influenza, and may be particularly important in protecting against

emerging flu viruses like the avian flu. The researchers believe that a vaccine made with a live

but weakened strain of flu virus – such as the inhaled flu vaccine introduced last year – may

activate this part of the immune system and offer the best defense against avian flu.”
