ABSTRACT

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has made a great success in a couple of years and
has made an impact in the International cricket. It has positioned India as the pre-eminent
nation in realigning the power structure in International sports.

The report provides with the information on marketing strategies and concepts that are
adopted by Indian Premier League (IPL). We have analysed IPL’s business strategies
comprehensively on various keys which are Market Orientation, Marketing Mix, SWOT
Analysis of the organisation. We have also incorporated the competitive advantage and the
competitive strategies on the basis of 4 P’s.

We have also provided some suggestions for the organisation to be the best among its
competitors in the market. The report also dwells with the lessons of globalization that India
has been able to take and use them to create a new national cricket league that has a vibrant
International character and culture.

The IPL on the whole is a very big event organisation which has a vast number of
areas to concentrate. Due to time constraint and word limit, we have concentrated on specific
entities of IPL.
