Processes—results, not work

 Definition: “a collection of interrelated work tasks,


initiated in response to an event, achieving a specific
result for the customer and other stakeholders of the
process.”
 the main elements in establishing the scope of a process
—the event at one end, and at the other, the result and the
customer expecting it.
 The result is the most important part of the definition—
without a result or output, what reason is there for a
process to exist? And the result is not a vaguely defined
service or condition—individual results must be
specifically identifiable and countable.
