PayPal

PayPal is Internet-oriented company which allows payments and money transfers over the
Internet with high security level. PayPal is headquartered in San Jose, California, and its
international headquarters is located in Singapore.
PayPal is type P2P (person-to-person) service. This type provides anyone who has an e-mail
address to send money to another person who also has an e-mail address.
The money can be transferred from our Bank account or credit card to PayPal account.
With this service we can buy goods and services anywhere in the world.

How does it work?

If we want to use PayPal service first we need to register on PayPal web site
www.paypal.com, then to transfer some amount of money which will be used on transactions
from our credit card or bank account to PayPal account.
For security reasons, PayPal requests confirmation of our card with 4 digits assigned by the
Bank. After confirmation, we are verified PayPal user.
When we login on the web site, we can buy from thousands stores which accept PayPal.
Transfer from our account to the recipient’s account takes five minutes, after which we will
receive a confirmation e-mail upon a successful transaction.

Confirmation e-mail also contains detailed information about transaction: the amount of
money, date and time, name of the recipient and the types of goods or services.
The recipient will also receive an e-mail confirmation of the transaction details.

PayPal supports payments in 24 currencies. As a buyer, we can pay for our purchases by
selecting currencies offered, and as a seller, we can accept payments only in currency chosen
by us.

PayPal offers buyers and sellers protection with their security centre which uses the latest
powerful method of protection. The buyer can send the complaint on transaction within 45
days from the execution day. This is in case if the buyer has not received his or her paid order
or if there is a huge difference from what was propound. If the complaint is accepted, the
buyer will get his or her money. On the other side, there is a seller protection also. It aims to
protect sellers against malicious complaints from buyers, as fraud compliant where buyers
complain that they have not received goods. In every transaction there is a confirmation of
delivery which has to be signed by both sides and it is a main document to prove potential
compliant.
Today PayPal is one of the most used payment method on the Internet because of its
advantages.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina we can not use PayPal account to receive money, we can only use
it for payment, so in Bosnia and Herzegovina we can only be buyers. However, if you plan to
buy something from the Internet, my suggestion is to use PayPal as your payment method. I
have been using PayPal for shopping on eBay and some Chinese web store. I have had about
20 transactions via PayPal and I have not had any issues with PayPal or sellers. Internet
sellers prefer a buyer who uses PayPal account.
