blood packs) and soiled dressings should be discarded into yellow-
coloured bags, ensuring that no leaking of fluid from the bag.

5. Management of soiled/contaminated linen

Staff handling ward linen should wear disposable latex/rubber


gloves and masks at all times. Handling should be done only when
necessary and no sorting is allowed.

6. Disposal of sharps and infectious wastes

Needles should not be removed from disposable syringes, recapped,


bent or broken by hands.
