DROPPOD INSTRUCTIONS:

The templates are designed for use with 0.5 mm thick card. Additional 1.0mm card for the
structure and a sheet of 2.0mm (or 2.5mm) balsa wood (or similar) is needed.

Cut along continuous lines. Scratch and fold “backwards” along the dotted lines. Dotted lines
marked with “x” are meant to be scratched on the backside of the card and then folded to the
printed side of the paper. Dash and dot lines indicate positions where other parts will be fixed.

Base / Top (dp1.gif; printing size 18.0 x 27.0cm):

Cut and fold part 1. Don’t forget to cut out the five rectangles for the door joints. Cut out Part
2 (five times), fold and glue under the five openings in part 1. Cut 3A and glue 3B inside.
Then glue 1 and 3 together.

Cut 3A, fold back the 5 rectangles and glue 3B to the gluing strips.
Cut the circle 4. Cut along the radial lines and carefully tilt them to form a fan. Cut out a
20mm high and approx. 150mm long strip of regular writing paper and roll it around this fan
and fix it on 3A.

Pylons / Doors (dp2.gif; printing size 18.0 x 27.0cm):

(Needed five times)

Cut 1A out of 2 or 2.5mm balsa wood or a similar material.

To save time (and decrease the detail level), you can do 1A out of 3mm (or 3.5mm) balsa and
spare out the parts 2A, 2B and 2C.
If you used 2mm Balsa you can now add 2A – 2C as 0.5 mm structure.
Then add the structure 3A, 3B and 3C (all 1,0mm thick) on both sides. Finally add the details
3D and 4 (1,0mm).
Repeat this five times.

Now glue the five pylons to the base. The Top part created earlier fits right between the five
pylons and is glued so that it overlaps the doors by five mm height.

As soon as the glue has dried, fold the five doors 5 and glue them between the pylons (this
step is a little tricky). Add the structure 6 (1.0 mm thick), and finally the round details 7
below the doors.

That’s it, time consuming, but not very difficult.
