Introduction

Infinate variable transmission(IVT) is the extension of continous variable

transmission(CVT). It has an infinate range of the input/output ratios to add to its
infinate number of possible ratios. IVT result from the amalgamation of a CVT with an
epicyclic gear system as also known as aplanatery gear system.

This epicyclic gear system facilates the subtraction of one speed to another
within the set of input and the rotation of aplanatery gear. IVT is distinguished as
being “infinite” in its ratio of high gear to low gear within its range; high gear is infinite
times higher than low gear. Furthermore, IVT is always engaged, even during its zero
outoput adjustment.

Types

1) Hydristor IVT
* has the theoritical range of 1/infinity to infinity/1, but real-world ratios are
constrained by physics
*eliminates the transmission gears completely and also retrofittable to any
vehicle
* Due to its hydraulic storage, it can literally spin the tires at highway speed
even when the engine is idling

2) Durnin-Drive IVT
* No clutch required
* Does not use any friction drive components
* The power is always transmitted from input to output through gear teeth

Operations

- IVT does not shift gear. IVT changes the gear ratio to any orbitary setting within the
limit

- IVT increases in-fuel productivity by automatically selecting the right speed ratios; in
other words, constant RPM but various speed

- No clutch system involved in subjecting the gear ratios.
