SUMMARY OF THE SIP AWARDS FUNCTION.

An award function for excellence in SIP was held on 5thSeptember, 2010. This function was
held at IBS Hyderabad Campus where students from other IBS Campuses were also present. The
awards were given to recognize the outstanding SIP’s undertaken by IBS students. There were
about 31 awardees out of 3000 competing students. The ceremony was graced by the presence of
distinguished guests like the Director, IBS Hyderabad Dr. D.S. Rao, Professor S.K. Sharma, IBS
Hyderabad, Miss Aparna Anand, IBSAF Selection Panel and the chief guest Mr. Arijit Sarkar,
Director Google India ( Sales).

The ceremony was carried forward by Mr. Arijit Sarkar who shared his varied experience and
enlightened us with the importance of Summer Internship Program. He emphasized on the fact
that SIP forms an important aspect of our MBA curriculum. SIP is considered to be one such
opportunity that provides students to gain first hands experience of working in the industry.
SIP’s help the student understand and handle real time problems that one may face at his or her
work place. Undertaking an SIP helps an individual apply his/her analytical skills and apply the
book knowledge to the business world. It gives that initial kick start required for our journey into
the corporate Life. One must be very passionate about whichever industry he/she does their SIP
in. It enables to get an experience of the extreme work pressure we might face later, build
relationships, and establish a worthwhile network. It makes us realize the importance of targets
and deadlines and most importantly time management. Therefore, excelling in SIP basically
indicates your readiness to face corporate world.
