AND CLMENT WARE MANUFACTORY (EXCLUDING STONE WARE PIPL MANUFACTURE)" IN
VARI OF THE SCIIEDULE OF MINIMUM WAGES ACT, 1948 — FINAT, NOLIFICATION.

Th exercise af the powers conferred by sub-seetion (1) of section 3 and sub-section (2) of section § of the
Minimum Wages Act, 1948 (Central Act 11 of 1948) and of all other powers hereunto enabling and after having
consulted with the State Minimuin Wages Advisory Board, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh hereby revises the
minimum sates of wages which shall consist of basic wage as specified in column (3) of the Schedule appended to
this notification as payable to cach category employees specified in the corresponding entry in column (2) there of
and employed in ihe employment in “Cement Conercte Pipes and Cement Ware Manufactory (excluding Stone Ware
Pipe Manufacture)" included in Part-I of the Schedule of the Minimum wages Act, 1948 in the State of Andhra
Pradesh as the same having been previously published inthe Andhra Pradesh Gazente No. 41, Part-I Extraordinary
dated 10éh July, 2006 vide GORtNo. 1446, Labour, Employment, Training and Factories (LabID) Department,
dated 3rd July. 2008 as required by clause (b) of sub-section (1) of section 5 of the said Act.
2. The minimum rates of wages so fixed shall come into force with effeer from the date of publication of this
jon. in the Andbra Pradesh Gazette.

COST OF LIVING ALLOWANCE
‘The minimusn basic rates uf wages fixed are linked to the Consumer Price Index Numbers for the industrial
workers at 502 points (Base Year 1942-100 sories). The Comissioner of Labaur shall notify the Cast af Living
Allowanee for every six months i.e, Ist April and Ist October. For this purpose. the average rise in the State Industrial
Workers Consumer Price Index numbers for half year ending December and Inne respectively shall be taken into

1. Many categorics employed in this employment are [eft out they should not be paid less than the minimum
rates of wages fixed in the category of the workers, being the same and sirnilar category of work in this
employment.
Where piece rate workers are employed, the remuneration paid to each of them for a normal working day
shall nor be less than the minimum wage fixed for a general worker being similar work, calculated on the
bais of 8 hours a day.
3. ‘To arrive ala daily rate, the monthly rate shall be divided by 26, which includes the rest day wages.
4. Where the nature of work is the same, no discrimination onthe payment of minitaum rates of' wages should
be made in respect of male and female workers
5. Where any category of employee is actually in receipt af higher rate of wages thant those specified above
shall continue to be paid such higher wages.
