Honors Seminar

University Career Center Reflection

This last class we went to the University Career Center. If it weren’t for this

seminar class, I probably wouldn’t have even known this center existed. The

University Career Center is a very useful resource. They help students out with

career advising, job shadowing, job fairs, interviewing practice, and most

importantly career resources. From the presentation that we were given, it seems

like the career center can be very useful. If I want to know what jobs I can get with

my major, I can just go to the career center and they can tell me. They can really

help me out with getting a job too. I can get internship and job shadowing

opportunities through the career center that can really help me out with getting a

job in the future. I learned a lot from this presentation. I now know that I need to

get my name out there. I need to start going to job fairs to meet with employers,

even if it is just to tell them my name. Hopefully if I do this later on, it will be easier

for me to get a job. Finding jobs in this day can be very difficult, so I need any edge

that I can. I really enjoyed this presentation. I learned so much about how the

career center can help me out. I feel like I can really get ahead in life career wise and

really get a job that I will love through this center. I am really glad that we had the

opportunity to go to the career center for this presentation.
