Informative Speech
I. Intro- It seems like the covers of today’s gossip magazines are full of unfortunate before and after
plastic surgery photos: celebs getting lip implants from their butt, correcting that Pinnochio nose, and
female stars finally throwing out thier A cups for the ever desireable double D’s. Whether we like to
admit it or not, the media has a significant influence on the American culture, as well as on most
individuals. Plastic surgery is not just for the rich and famous but rapidly spreading to the ordianry
people who feel a bit inadequate in today’s beauty-based society. As perfection’s popularity increases,
the tolerance for physical imperfections dwindles. Once a practice for reconstruction and rehabilitation,
plastic surgery has merely become an expensive confidence boost due to current standards of beauty.
