9/26/10 Significant Event Reflection

My trip to jamaica was a truthfully life changing adventure. The way the events

happened really coorelated well with the structure of my essay. I did leave out some activities

though considering there are too many to count in a tropical paradise such as jamaica. I rather

enjoyed writing this paper. It wasn’t some boring topic that made you almost fall asleep while

you were writing. Any paper which has a topic that you can relate to in any way is my type of

paper. Also, writing this paper brings back very enjoyable memories of my trip. The beginning

of the paper is a little depressing but is a piece of important information which brings about the

actual significance of my trip. The fact that my dad remarried was the significant event and is

why my life changed after/during that trip. Writing about my new family was again, rather

enjoyable. I felt that things would be a whole lot better as I stated in my paper. This paper was

probably one of the easier topics I’ve had due to the fact that you are pretty much recording

the events of a previous memory. That is something that you don’t have to research or spend

hours trying to figure out how to start your paper. This paper also can show or display if the

event chosen was actually significant or not. After you read over it yourself, you can really

determine if it was a life changing experience or had some sort of significance. The paper didn’t

take me very long to write at all, just remembering the events of the trip is all. I feel that in a

way, these topics for papers can really bring out the good writing ability of a student. Students

will tend to not have much interest if the topic bores them or they can’t understand it,

therefore the paper does not turn out as well. Thank you Mr. Arnold for giving me the

oppurtunity to write about something and actually have fun doing it.
