Kung-fu Panda’s Critical

Analysis {From the

Perspective of coaching
only}
The Main characters of the movie are:

Po

Tigress

Crane

Mantis

Monkey

Viper

Master Shifu
The story revolves around these seven characters and two
others

Master Oogway
&

Tai lung (Villain)

Leaving other aspects on one side the coaching begins when everyone believes
that panda is the dragon warrior and the only chance for the survival of people
and the peace.

Master Shifu begins with finding the need of Po (panda) and then guiding him the
way to reach it. Talking specifically this takes the Driver approach of coaching.
Careful observation, applauding the good work and correcting necessary actions
were often observed in the movie when he was coaching the furious five (Tigress,
Crane, Monkey, Viper and Mentis)

This did not end here; He was also displaying Amiable coaching character as he
was asking them to believe in a few things that did seem impossible but he said it
feels to be good that way, which is a characteristic of an amiable coaching style.
The style of coaching was also quite strange and out of the box which makes it all
the more interesting.
More over the coach also involved in follow up with the po thus confirming
performance on the job.

However the un-expected and unforced error appeared just before climax when
they found out that Dragon scroll was just a fake and there was nothing written in
it “There is no secret ingredient it’s just the belief that makes things special” and
master Shifu lost confidence in Po and told everyone to leave. This should not
have happened and he must have had confidence in Po. Finally Po reached his
dad and just then he finds out about the power of self belief and goes back to
finish things off and complete a herculean task of beating Tai-lung.

This ends the movie at a happy note as he saves the lives of inhabitants of the
valley and the temple.

On the whole this describes wonderful coaching attitude with little flaws which
are understood keeping in mind it’s just a movie.
