Searching with Synonym
 We can search based on keywords or their
synonyms on Google using ~ character.
 Example:

◦ ~Kesenian Blora
 With this query expression, we will get “Kesenian”,
“Seni”, and other synonyms.
◦ ~Makanan Yogyakarta
 Makanan, Makan, Masakan, etc.
Searching for specific filetype
 If we want to find some documents in
appropriate file type: pdf, ppt, doc, xls, swf,
ps, kml, kmz, rtf, use these sintax:
◦ Your keywords filetype:<filetype>
◦ Example:
 ~Kesenian yogyakarta filetype:ppt
Searching Exact Phrase
 Delimited your keywords with double quotes
(“) to find exact phrase (including stop words)
 Example

◦ “Universitas Duta Wacana”

Including stop words
 If you want to make sure Google find stop
word in your keywords, use operator + (plus)
 Example :

◦ United +of board

◦ The results will be different when you find with:
◦ United of board
Searching on specific site
 Use keyword site: if you want to find some
documents on specific site:
 Example:

◦ Kesenian jawa site:www.ukdw.ac.id
