Kirk Basal salt media:

0.22 g/l ammonium tartarate;

0.2 g/l KH2PO4;
0.05 g/l MgSO4á7H2O,
0.01 g/l CaCl2 and
1 mg/lthiamine;
10ml/l of 10% Tween solution;
1.5 mM veratrylalcohol,
10 ml/l trace elements.
5 g/l glucose
200 mg/ldyestuff.
pH of themedia was adjusted to 4.5 by using 2,2 dimethyl succinicacid.

Trace element solution had the following composition:

0.08 g/l CuSO4á7H2O,

0.05 g/l H2MoO4,
0.07 g/lMnSO4á4H2O,
0.043 g/l ZnSO4á7H2O
0.05 g/lFe2(SO4)3.
