SCENARIO
SinhCafe Travel is one of Vietnam’s leading travel and tour companies. Sinhcafe
Travel is a private owned enterprise which operates under International travel
licence from Vietnam National Tourism Department. With offices in Hanoi in the
north, Danang in the centre and Ho Chi Minh City in the south, they have been
working together with, and providing quality service to, tour operators and clients
throughout the world. Visitors from the US, Canada, Australia, France, Germany,
Norway and Finland, to name a few, have been treated to an array of tours ranging
from cultural to ecological tours to any tailor-made tour imaginable.
Competitive prices, personable and professional guides are very important to
company success. SinhCafe offer a full service of tourism products from car rental to
flight reservations to bus tickets to hotels, restaurants and visas. The company also
work with customers/visitors to create a truly memorable visit to Vietnam.
Task 1:
Identify different ranges of decisions that may be taken by different
managerial levels in your department. (1 a)
Review some of the information and knowledge that you may require to
ensure that the above decisions are effective. (1 b)
Identify, assess, and justify your internal and external sources of information
that you have to gather – such as formal and informal, primary and secondary
(including official and unofficial sources) and others. (1 c)
Your director has asked you to recommend for improvements in making
decisions at your department and organization. Provide your
recommendations with reasons. (1 d)

Task 2:
Note that your compilation should include a content page, sign questionnaires and
any other relevant presentation slides as appendices to assist you in writing your
report.

GRADING
Pass is achieved by meeting all the requirements defined in the assessment
criteria. (Refer page 2 of the assignment brief)
To achieve a PASS, student’s should manage time, role and responsibility; and
answer should display a collection and responds to a variety of information, legible
with neat written work, gathering different sources of information and applying sum
numerical skills and techniques in aid to the presentation.
To achieve a MERIT, student’s should manage time, role and responsibility; and
answers should display clear and appropriate respond to variety of information
collected, legible, clear and neat written work, clear variety of information sources
used and display knowledge gained from use of presentation aids.

PRESENTATION
1. The assignment should have a cover page that includes the assignment title,
assignment number, course title, module title, Lecturer/tutor name and
student’s name. Attach all the pages of assignment brief/cover sheet with your
report and leave them blank for official use.
10. The assignment should be not contain a bibliography – but should contain a
list of any references used in the assignment.
Check carefully the submission date and the instructions given with the
assignment. Late assignments will not be accepted.
Ensure that you give yourself enough time to complete the assignment by the
due date.
Do not leave things such as printing to the last minute – excuses of this nature
will not be accepted for failure to hand-in the work on time.
You must take responsibility for managing your own time effectively.
If you are unable to hand in your assignment on time and have valid reasons
such as illness, you may apply (in writing) for an extension.
Failure to achieve a PASS grade will results in a REFERRAL grade being
given.
Take great care that if you use other people’s work or ideas in your
assignment, you properly reference them in your text and any bibliography.
NOTE: If you are caught plagiarizing, you could have your grade
reduced to zero, or at worst, you could be excluded from the course.
