EPA review completed November 6, 2008 indicates that PetroGuard and PetroLite meet
the definition of a “sorbent” as specified in Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations of
the National Contingency Plan.
PetroGuard for chemical spill response is a sorbent material and consists solely of the
materials listed in section 300.915(g)(1) of the NCP.
PetroLite for oil spill response and remediation is a sorbent material and consists solely of
the materials listed in section 300.915(g)(1) of the NCP.
