Abstract: With the rapid development of wireless networks and mobile computing applications, Quality of Service
(QoS) for mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) has been an important issue. QoS is of great importance in MANETs
since it can improve performance and allow critical information to flow even under difficult conditions. Attacks on
QoS signaling system could result in routing malfunction, interference of resource reservation, or even failure of QoS
provision in the absence of protection from a security mechanism. New security techniques are necessary
characteristics of the MANETs; Rerouting among mobile nodes causes dynamic change in network topology and
traffic load conditions and limited communication and computation capacity. Not much research has been done on
this topic yet. In this paper, the security issues for MANET QoS systems will be addressed.
