Cellular Industry In India.

Cell Phone is one of the most important inventions of humans. The first handheld cellular phone
was demonstrated by Martin Cooper of Motorola in 1973, using a handset weighing 2 kg and just
after less than 2 decades there were more than there were more than 10 million people who were
using these technology in the world. Mobile technology was introduced in India in mid 1990s and
since then India is the fastest growing telecom industry in this world with BSNL being the most used
cell phone and land line service. India has more than 600 million mobile service subscribers.

With more advancements in the mobile technology and introduction of 3g to


Indian markets the market is more likely to set new records. Mobile technology in India is not
restricted to just attending and making phone calls, the youths in India are using internet services
too on their mobile phones. The major players in India telecom Industry are Reliance , Airtel , BSNL ,
Idea , Vodafone , Aircel , TATA Docomo. There is always a scene of competition between these
companies every major player is trying to attract more customers towards them with new schemes
and new tariff plans the Indian Telecom Industry is stepping towards a long lasting platinum age.
