Creating a Database
1 Create a folder Alpha in the Home Folder. Inside the Alpha folder create a subfolder

with a name “Your Name” (Ex: Juan Dela Cruz). In the folder “Your Name” create a

subfolder and name it Database.

2 Start the OpenOffice.org Database.

3 A “Database Wizard” dialog box pops up.

3.1 Step 1 is about selecting database.

3.1.1 Select “Create a new database”.

3.1.2 Click “Next”.

3.2 Step 2 is “Save and proceed”.

3.2.1 Select “Yes, register the database for me” to make your database accessible

from other applications in OpenOffice.Org.

3.2.2 Click on the “Finish” button.

3.3 “Save As” dialog box appears.

3.3.1 Name your database file using the format: act1_your_name_dvd-

collection. Replace “your_name” with your first name and last name, use “_”

instead of space.

3.3.2 Locate your subfolder Database and save your database file there.

4 Close the program.

5 Shutdown your computer properly.
