Strengths
• First ever integrated camera (all in one)
released by Canon with a 8mm video
camcorder. Only takes around 30 minutes to
charge up. Has a memory button to save
recordings. Extra ports allow enhanced video
quality through extra lights and also
headphones to control sound levels. Playback
also helps make videos more accurate.
Limitations
• Quite a large and heavy battery which leads to
the camera being hard to carry around and less
accessible, for example when filming a running
scene it would be difficult for the camera man
to carry the video recorder. All in all the camera
weighs around 3-4 kg. Numerous parts which
could easily fall off if the camera was dropped.

Strengths
• Automatic time tracking allows automatic
calculation of the player matched frame. Floppy
disk drive unit allows more easy input of
footage. Colour coded buttons to show
different uses. Advanced graphic effect helps
enhance the video.
Limitations
• Editing is limited as if you get even one clip cut
wrong, the whole video has to be started again
which can be very stressful and frustrating for
the longer clips. Can only transfer footage via
floppy disks, which makes accessibility limited.

Strengths
• Can be used as a webcam, which shows

Limitations
• Doesn’t appear to have a video backlight.
Battery life could be extended as only lasts a

harm the lens. Internal noise capture could be

Strengths Limitations

• Capture high quality HD to CF cards. Audio can
be captured via twin XLR inputs and also with
the front mounted, stereo microphone.
Compact to extend portability. Sleek black
surface with numerous grips. Good stabilisation
and grip.
• Heavy and may be difficulty when filming a
moving scene. Limited grip therefore could
slip out of hands and break. NTCS or PAL
