What were dinosaurs like?

Dinosaurs were animals that lived long ago. Some dinosaurs were very
big. Other dinosaurs were small. Some dinosaurs ate plants. Some
dinosaurs ate other animals. All dinosaurs are extinct. Extinct means
that an animal or plant is gone forever.

Paleontologists study fossils of dinosaur bones. They want to know

what dinosaurs looked like. Fossils are the traces or prints of animals
and plants found in rocks. Fossils can show us the size and shape of the
animal or plant.
