The recent recession has some families out of jobs and out of food this
holiday season. WXKZs Kaitlyn Hemmingson has more on how the Brookings Food
Pantry is handling the situation.
Don Kasak manager of the Brookings Food Pantry has never been this busy since he
took over five years ago… The demand for food has almost doubled since last year.
So far Kasak has served over 2-thousand people this year…

Donations are also at an all time high … the community seems to recognize the need.
With the holiday soon approaching Kasak is counting on state and federal grants,
private donations, local grocery stores, and food drives to help these struggling
families.
