BALLET AT ITS BEST
A ballet dancer requires strength, agility,
coordination, stamina and grace. The company of
“Stars of American Ballet” exhibited all those
qualities and more on Wednesday evening at Albert
Taylor Hall. The performance entitled "Solstice:
feature principals Carena Brock and Ted Kivett,
a husband and wife team that have been dancing
together for many years.
Intemational reviews have said that the United
States can certainly be proud of these dancers
who "dance truly, brilliant and with a joy that
is projected into the audience evoking screams
of bravos.” There was certainly thunderous : ve
applause as local Emporians took advantage of Exhausted but happy, Brock and Kivett take a final
bow after nearly two hours of dancing.
