From the Program Chair

Well, it's certainly obvious that we
miss Carol and her organizational skills,
isn't it? We're without the white board,
without the agenda, without she who
kept us on track. Get well soon and
come back to us, Carol!
The January meeting (that's the
8th, for those of you with a scorecard) is
in Frankfort as it usually is; we have
gotten that far. For long-range planning
we will certainly attempt to keep things
pretty much with the usual flow of places
that we've all come to love and expect,
what ever that is; and will get word out
to everyone on plenty of time to plan
carpools, etc. Can you believe the price
of gasoline?
Lynn Hanna has stepped forward
and spoken to the folks serving on the
board about taking on Ken's role as
newsletter editor; hurrah! Ken has
worked long and hard at it, and taken it
to levels never seen before. Thanks,
Ken! He'll have a lot to show Lynn as
she transitions into the position; but I
happen to know that Lynn also has
some mad photo skills and more than a
few tricks up her sleeves, too. This will
all be interesting!
There are a lot of things planned
for this next year, with a Guild show and
sale in November and our own
Certificate of Excellence in Spinning
program on tap. That and our normal
food, camaraderie, and road trips will
keep us all busy. Stay warm, everyone;
stay safe and sane and cherish each
other. We're all the best friends anyone
could ever have.

Between Friends is the regular newsletter of
Friendship Spinners. We meet on the second
Saturday of each month from 10:00 am to
4:00 pm at various locations around Kentucky
and Southern Indiana. Lunch is usually
potluck. Dues are $20 per calendar year. For

If anyone has equipment they

wouldn't mind lending for a meeting
please let me know. i will then be able to
set up a schedule for people to try out
equipment for the COE samples. i can
bring a great wheel and a charkha to
cover the spindle wheel category. We
will rotate the months so there is more
than one time for people have a go.

to share or are in need of some, let me
know so i can add it to the list.

To all fiber enthusiasts and weaver
Brigitte Guffey wannabees--This January the Weavers
Corner will offer a week of introductory
lessons on our looms. You can sign up for
just one day or come several days. The
looms will be threaded up in a variety of
threads and projects. No previous weaving
experience necessary. We will meet from
9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. January 17 - 21, 2011.
The fee of $60.00 per day will
include all supplies. Several projects could
be completed each day. Bring a sack lunch.
We will have hot and cold drinks and
cookies for that much needed burst of
afternoon energy.
