    A Charged Particle in Magnetic Field

    Magnetic Field:

    The Stationary charges carry only electric field while charges in motion carries both electric and
    magnetic fields.

    We normally denote a magnetic field by symbol ‘B’.

    UNIT OF MAGNETIC FIELD

    The SI unit of Magnetic field is Tesla(T) or Newton/ampere-meter or Weber/meter. The Earth has a
    magnetic field of the order of 10^-5 Tesla. Another popular Unit of magnetic field is gauss.

    1Tesla = 10^5 gauss
