LEARNING ASPECTS

During my internship period I learnt a lot regarding the operations of the bank. As I

was rotated different departments I the bank, therefore it helped me to get the experiences of

different departments and areas such as accounts opening department, clearing department,

remittances department and accounts department.

6.1 Accounts Opening Department

The things that I learnt in this department:

 Dealing with Customers

 Mechanism of open the account

 Checking the account opening procedure

 Miscellaneous work

 Issuance of checkbooks to customers

6.2 Clearing Department

The things that I learnt in this department:

 Gain knowledge about inward clearing

 Gain knowledge about outward clearing

 Bouncing the checks

 Stamps procedure

6.3 Remittances Department

The things that I learnt in this department:

  Gain the experiences of filling the form of pay order

 Filling of deposits slips

 How accounting entries are made

6.4 Accounts Department

The things that I learnt in this department:

 How daily vouchers are counted

 Sorted and these are posted

 Record of salaries of different employee

6.5 Credit Department

The things that I learnt in this department:

 Types of financing facilities

 Criteria to obtain the credit

 Legal document require to obtain finance

6.6 Trade Department

The things that I learnt in this department:

 Procedure of opening an import L/C
