 I choose to do symbolism, because in my opinion symbolism played the biggest part in this book
by adding context and structuring plot.
 My essay analyzes Hemingway’s extensive use of symbolism in the novel, especially rain, love
and war.
 One of the main reasons I wanted to do symbolism is the way rain and nature replaces
emotions, it makes the book very interesting. I have never seen this done before in a book and it
caught my attention.
 Another reason Symbolism is so interesting is because it relates to so many things at once. Rain
is a type of weather, a way of foreshadowing death but on the other hand Hemingway uses
water to represent the good side of life.
