Pork is the other animal protein I recommend my patients to permenantly

eliminate from their diet. In recent years, reports have surfaced about viruses spread by
pigs, and in some cases, these are newly detected viruses. In Malaysia, during the Spring
of 1999, tens of thousands of pigs were exterminated in order to stop the spread of a virus
found in the pig population and transmitted to humans by way of mosquitoes. Other
reports have surfaced that pigs are capable of altering certain influenza viruses, such as
those found in birds, thus making these mutated viruses able to adversely affect humans.
In addition, each cell of a pig contains a retrovirus, for which the long term effects are
unknown.

Pork protein is difficult for the body to break down and digest the fat in pork causes joint
problems and neurohormonal imbalances in some people. In addition, pork cells contain
– hold – viruses. For these reasons, pork is not allowed in the diet.
