It allows you to energize ordinary household fluorescent or neon lamps without any electrical wiring, simply by a touch of your hand. Our special beer mug, stirring rod and other gas filled objects as described can be activated creating an excellent conversation piece sINSTRUCTIONS 1. Unpack and check for damage. Contact factory if any is found. 2. Remove rear cap and insert 8 fresh Alkaline 1-1/2 AA batteries into 8 cell holder. Make sure switch is off if it is a “push on" “push off" type. *3. Unwrap antenna lead and connect to earth ground or a large metallic object. (The socket plate screw on most AC receptacles is a good ground). (See Special Note). 4. Grab hold of a 2 to 4 foot standard fluorescent tube with one hand. 5. Grab hold of the Bat Magic with the other hand and press push button switch. Note fluorescent lamp igniting as held in above step. Any gas discharge device now will ignite and glow mysteriously as if you were electrified. The effect will vary with position of the display tube in reference to ground, large conductive objects or even people. Experimentation is suggested for optimizing results. SPECIAL NOTE *THE ANTENNA LEAD MAY BE HELD BY AN ACCOMPLICE. CAUTION - MAKE A POSITIVE CONTACT WITH BARE END OF LEAD TO PREVENT ANY PIN PRICK BURNS THE DISPLAY NOW WILL APPEAR TO ENERGIZE WHEN BOUGHT NEAR THE CONTACTED ACCOMPLICE.The Magic Glo may also be worn on the person with the foil (handle) section contacting the skin surface. Caution as improper or loose contact can cause annoying pin prick burns. (Leg contact will require a remote switch for control). The antenna lead may now be grounded or contacted to an accomplice experiment for best results BRIEF EXPLANATION OF OPSRATION Your unit transmits low energy harmless radio waves having the property to ionize the gas in most small lighting displays. Like all electrical currents a complete circuit is required for optimum effect. The Magic Glo utilizes high frequency electricity that can flow thru and between conductive objects. This effect is similar to a capacitor that is nothing more than two conductive plates separated by a space of air. When you touch the foil handle of the unit, current flows thru your body via the surface of your skin. When you hold the display lamp, current now wants to flow thru it via the glass walls, end pins etc. The lamp now becomes part of the plate of our capacitor separated by the distance between it's body and any grounded object that now acts as as the other plate. A capacitor is now formed and current flows. This capacity is approximately 9 pico farads per square meter separated by one meter (permittivity of space). High frequency current now flows thru the "capacitor" completing the circuit and causing the display to glow! EXPERIMENTATION IS SUGGESTED TO OBTAIN THE BEST RESULTS FOR A GIVEN DEMONSTRATION. ANTENNA CONNECTIONS, LOCATIONS, PROXIMITY AND DISPLAYS WILL ALL PLAY A ROLE IN PERFORMANCE.
