Selection Process for Dig pack front cover

The first design that I came up was this one as I wanted to try and include as many
elements from my research for example the image in the middle was from The
Carruretors album cover which is shown in the research, however after asking the
teachers what they thought I soon realised that it did not work because the teacher
said that it was far to complicated and that their was too much going on which meant
that I had to rethink.

Once I had got my feed back from the teacher he suggested that I try and copy this
blur album cover which is partially shown above by the 4 boxes in each corner. I also
agreed with the teacher because I thought that it would work well for our band
because I could have a similar image of all the band members.

I found this image really interesting because as I was aiming for black and white theme
to try and keep with the Linkin park theme which seems to be black and white this
image showed that the square idea would work in black and white as I unsure whether it
would however having seen this it changed my mind so I wanted to combine the two
above images together because I like elements from both.

I decided that I liked the idea of black and white theme the background white and then
the band members white, how ever I liked the idea of making slightly different by making a
chequered style which I thought would look good because it would stand out more, and
wanted to come up with my own idea using elements from the above.

Once I had created the above template I then cut out the images to try and replicate
the blur style in the way the band members look which is straight as shown in the blur
album cover. Once I had cut out the image I then changed them to black and white and
put them on the opposite colour background. The style also links to the blur in the way it
looks cartoony but the difference being that it is in black and white. I thinks that this style
links back to Linkin Park style which seems to be black and white especially the Minutes
to Midnight album
