Ten years ago Portarlington was a quiet beach town with an appeal only to pensioners and

investors, consisting of a rundown pub and an IGA that was shut before the sun set. Since
then, the town has flourished and expanded, bearing witness to a flurry of activity; welcoming
youth and prosperity into its charming arms. Land prices soared, shops were refurbished and
events and festivals have been the cause for excitement in the once overlooked town.

Portarlington differs from its counterparts on the other side of the bay, possessing a rare
tranquillity that rivals its neighbours in St Leonards and Indented Heads.
