1. “‘Same-sex marriage: Good for Gays, Bad for Children”

2. Children are hurt in same-sex marriages because it deprives them of a mother and father.

3. Same-sex marriage immediately deprives a child of a the chance of having a mother and
father, and their rights are ignored in the arguments between same-sex adoption and the
redefinition of marriage.

4. Children need a mother and a father, and it’s
impossible to achieve in same-sex adoption
and marriage.
• Proof #1: A mother and father have
distinct contributions to a children’s
upbringing. (logos/pathos)
• Proof #2: Same-sex marriage ignores
what is best for children. (pathos)
• Proof #3: It cannot be safe to say it’s
better than parenting by a mother and
father because what can possibly match
parenting at what it is meant to be?

5. A same-sex couple could nurture and
provide the same comfort as a mother and
father.
• Proof #1: Two mothers or two fathers
could work to serve the same roles as a
mother and father. (logos)
• Proof #2: Same-sex parents can provide
what is best for children – they are just
as able as a mother and father. (logos)
• Proof #3: How can we define “what is
meant to be”? Why can’t it be two
mothers or two fathers? (logos)
