Acme Packet (APKT) Jumps on Solid Q4 Results

Investors liked the Q4 numbers from Acme Packet (APKT, $57.75 after hours),
sending the stock up 3.3% in after hours trading on top of a 3.9% gain during the
regular session.

Per-share earnings of 26 cents topped the consensus by three cents a share and
revenue of $70.2 million (+70% year over year and +24% sequentially) easily beat
the consensus of $60.8 million.

For 2011, the company now sees EPS of $1.05 (consensus is $1.04) on revenue of
$300 million (consensus is $295.8 million). The company is maintaining its 2011
revenue growth forecast of +30%, which appears to be quite conservative. Of
course, it does have some tough comps in the year ahead.

For 2010, total revenue rose 63% to $231.2 million. Operating margin expanded to
36% from 22% in 2009. Per-share earnings came in at 80 cents.
