Equality

Equality is trapped behind the bars of “we”

When all he wished to be is free,

Though he cannot figure out why,

He feels the answer is deep inside,

He wishes to figure out why and how,

But being curious simply isn’t allowed

Away underground he stows out of sight,

To find the truth of the missing light,

The councils were shown the light, they didn’t believe him,

So away he was locked up in corrective detention,

He escapes the prison, for no guards hold them,

To the unknown forests with the one that is Golden,

For with the scripts, they find they are “I” “Us” and “Me”,

And no longer do they respect the word of “We”.

Who We Are

We can sing, but we won’t,

We can wonder, but we don’t,

We can think, but we can’t,

We can speak, but we shant.

For we are one, together in all,

Not we only as they would call,

We are all equal, alike, and the same,

Living by our brothers’ will each day,

Our hopes and dreams matter not,

Our feelings are controlled like bots,

Never do we know our fathers and mothers,

They think we look different from our brothers,

But when we look in the mirror, what do we see?

The mighty, the equal, the collective “we.”
