Merchandise Presentation

 Verticality: High priced and luxury related product will be holding the top position of shelf
space followed by average priced product and Low priced products in lower shelf space. In
case of kids wish products such as chocolates, they are placed in spaces that are reachable
to them.
 Horizontality: Arrangement of products are in a series from right to left of the store.
Generally related products are paced in consecutive spaces. Example: Chocolates are placed
next to snacks.
 Centrality: Central self spaces are generally used to present value for money products.

Façade

 Façade’s of food and grocery retail outlet are used to display the retail outlet name in an
attractive way. Few special offers are displayed in façade’s to attract customers.

Windows

 Windows are generally not given much importance in Food and Grocery retail outlets.

Fixtures

 Mostly racks are used to place all the products of food and grocery retail outlet. Few
gondolas are used to display special brands such as Axe, Pepsi etc.

In-store Displays

 Point of Sale displays, Hangings, Wobblers, Wall posters etc are used for in store displays.

Store Layout

 Food and grocery retail follows Grid layout.

Mannequin

 Mostly Food and Grocery retail doesn’t use Mannequin in their stores.

Lighting

 Fruits and Vegetables are high lightened using focus lights to depict its freshness.

Signage

 Signages are used to direct customers to surf through the available product at ease. Mostly
it is used to direct customers.
